Description

Where once stood a ruin now stands a beautifully renovated townhouse in Ibiza style.

We have all been able to watch the Dutch Television Show ‘Het Spaanse Dorp' at RTL4. In this program five Dutch couples got the change to renovate a house in a Spanish village that could use some action.
Juani and Johnnie got the biggest project. A house where only a few pigeons lived was thoroughly tackled by this spontaneous couple and now it has been transformed into a beautiful cozy Spanish house. The craftsmanship of Johnnie can be found everywhere in the house. Johnnie doesn't like to make it easy on himself with the choices he makes for conversion. He doesn't like straight corners on walls. He prefers to round the corners much more laboriously so that it fits the house better. He also likes to use authentic Spanish materials, which he uses everywhere in the house. During the renovation of the house, the Spanish atmosphere is combined with the time of today!

Johnnie the rough work and Juani her good taste for styling ensures this beautiful result.

The main house can be entered through two entrances, through the terrace or through the front door. We choose to enter through the front door downstairs and come in a hall with nice decent stairs to the top. On the left is the first bedroom with a beautiful bathroom. The washbasin made of an old door combined with a stone bowl and black plumbing gives a tough robust appearance.

We walk back to the hall and take the stairs upstairs. The steps are inlaid with stone in which the craftsmanship comes up again. Upstairs we end up in the nice kitchen in Spanish style with door to the terrace. Through the window to the outside we even have a view of the sea. When we walk through the kitchen we pass the bathroom with toilet and shower. By clever use of space they have created a complete bathroom here. The old characteristic wooden door has been converted into a sliding door by adding the modern rail system.
We enter the living room with a lovely sofa. A sloping ceiling with wooden beams remind you of the old house that stood there. The window also gives a nice view back to the sea making a TV almost unnecessary. This room still has access to a storage room, but you can also turn it into your own walk-in closet. Finally we walk to the second bedroom of the house. This is very light through the window which also overlooks the terrace. Again we notice how beautiful and stylish everything is finished.

Meanwhile it is quite warm and Johnnie and Juani are calling us for a refreshing drink. We walk to the terrace at the house where they are waiting. But... they say, we take that drink on the roof terrace. We walk with them to the roof terrace and that's a really nice addition to the house! Beautiful panoramic views over a part of Polopos, the mountains and of course the sea! Because of the convenient location there is always a nice breeze so you can enjoy this breathtaking view in the shade. We think we have already seen the whole house but then Johnnie calls us downstairs because he still has a surprise.

Directly at the house there is a large room where he had plans to make an independent apartment. Through our own entrance door we arrive in this room. All facilities are present such as electricity and water. There is enough space to make a bedroom, living room with small kitchen and a bathroom. At the back you can even make a small patio terrace. Perfect for renting out of course.
